Purpose-built billing for legal professionals

NomosPay is a monday.com embedded application that handles the complete legal billing lifecycle — from logging billable time with UTBMS codes to generating LEDES-compliant invoices and maintaining an immutable trust accounting ledger.

Because NomosPay runs entirely within monday.com's secure infrastructure, your client data never touches an external server. All billing records, time entries, and trust ledger entries are stored via monday.com's native Storage API — encrypted, versioned, and under your full control.

Whether you run a solo practice or a multi-partner firm, NomosPay adapts to your billing structure: hourly, flat-fee, retainer, contingency, or blended-rate engagements are all supported out of the box.

Matter Billing

Matter-level billing in the item view

Embedded directly in each monday.com item (board row), the Matter Billing view gives attorneys per-matter context without leaving their workflow.

Seven-step invoice assembly

Build audit-ready invoices in minutes. Every step is logged and reversible.

  1. 1

    Select Matter

Choose the client matter from your monday.com board. NomosPay loads all unbilled time entries, expenses, and any prior pre-bill adjustments automatically.

  2. 2

    Pick Entries

Review the entry list. Include or exclude individual line items. Entries flagged as "no-charge" or "do not bill" are hidden by default but remain in the audit log.

  3. 3

    Apply Write-downs & Adjustments

Adjust rates or hours per entry. Write-downs route through the approval tier configured in Settings — attorney self-approval up to a threshold, then partner, then managing partner.

  4. 4

    Choose Format & AFA Model

Select the billing arrangement: Hourly, Flat Fee, Retainer Draw, Contingency, or Blended Rate. The invoice structure updates to match the chosen model.

  5. 5

    Preview Invoice

Review the rendered invoice — line items, totals, tax, trust application — before finalizing. PDF preview renders in the panel.

  6. 6

    Export

Download as PDF, LEDES 1998B, LEDES 2000, or LEDES XML 2.1. Multiple formats can be exported simultaneously for different recipient requirements.

  7. 7

    Mark Paid & Log Trust

Record payment date and amount. If paid from trust, NomosPay automatically debits the trust ledger and generates the corresponding disbursement entry in the IOLTA log.

Client-specific formats

Some clients require vendor-specific LEDES dialects (e.g., Tyco, Pfizer). Contact support@mydeveloper.ma to request a custom template — we typically deploy client-specific formats within 5 business days.

Immutable trust accounting with hash-chain integrity

NomosPay's trust ledger uses a SHA-256 hash chain — each transaction's hash includes the hash of the prior record — creating a tamper-evident audit trail that satisfies most state bar reconciliation requirements.

Supported transaction types

  • Client advance / retainer deposit
  • Disbursement to earned fees (transfer to operating account)
  • Third-party disbursement (court costs, expert fees, settlements)
  • Refund to client
  • Interest earned (IOLTA pool)
  • Bank error correction with dual-authorization

Reconciliation reports

Generate monthly trust reconciliation reports in PDF or CSV. The report includes opening balance, all debits and credits, running balance, and the SHA-256 chain verification status for each entry.

Frequently asked questions

Does NomosPay store my client data on external servers?

No. All data — time entries, invoices, trust ledger records, rate matrices — is stored exclusively via monday.com's native Storage API. NomosPay has no external database and no data ever leaves your monday.com account. See our Privacy Policy for technical details.

Is NomosPay compliant with state bar trust accounting rules?

NomosPay's trust ledger is designed to produce records consistent with IOLTA accounting requirements common to most US state bars. However, NomosPay is not a certified trust accounting system and does not replace bar-required accounting software (such as QuickBooks with a trust accounting add-on, or dedicated legal accounting platforms). You remain solely responsible for bar compliance. See §7 of our Terms of Service.

Which LEDES formats are supported?

NomosPay supports LEDES 1998B, LEDES 2000, LEDES XML 2.1, and PDF invoice export. Custom client-specific LEDES dialects can be added on request — contact support@mydeveloper.ma.

Can I use NomosPay without a monday.com account?

No. NomosPay is a monday.com embedded application and requires an active monday.com workspace to operate. A monday.com free or paid plan is required in addition to your NomosPay subscription. NomosPay does not offer a standalone web or desktop application.

How do write-down approvals work in a multi-partner firm?

Write-down approval routing is fully configurable. Attorneys may approve their own write-downs up to a firm-set threshold (default 5%). Write-downs exceeding that threshold route to the billing partner via monday.com notification. Write-downs above 10% require managing partner sign-off. All thresholds are adjustable in Firm Dashboard → Settings → Billing Controls.

What happens to my data if I uninstall NomosPay?

All data stored by NomosPay is immediately purged from monday.com's Storage API upon uninstall. You can also trigger a manual data erasure from Settings → Data & Privacy → Erase All Data before uninstalling. We recommend exporting any invoices or ledger reports you need to retain before uninstalling.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. All paid plans (Starter, Pro, Firm) include a 14-day free trial with full feature access. No credit card is required for the trial. At the end of the trial period, the account downgrades to the Free plan automatically if no payment method is added.

Which jurisdictions and languages are supported?

NomosPay supports 65 jurisdictions for rounding rules, tax treatment, and currency formatting. The UI is available in 7 languages: English, French, Spanish, Arabic, German, Portuguese, and Dutch. Jurisdiction and language settings are configured per-workspace in Firm Dashboard → Settings → Localization.
